WARNINGS
Do not drive or use machinery for 5 hours after taking melatonin. Exercise caution if operating heavy machinery, driving a motor vehicle, or involved in activities requiring mental alertness. Avoid taking with alcohol or products that cause drowsiness. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have one of the following conditions: asthma, cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, depression, diabetes or hypoglycaemia, hormonal disorder, immune system disease, liver disease, migraine, or seizure disorders, or if you are taking one of the following medications: anticoagulant, anticonvulsant, blood pressure medications, immunosuppressive medications, sedative, hypnotic or psychotropic medications, or steroids, carbidopa or drugs/supplements with serotonergic activity (these may include, but are not limited to L-tryptophan, S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), St. Johns wort, antidepressants, pain killers, over-the-counter cough and cold medication containing dextromethorphan, anti-nausea medication and anti-migraine medication). Do not use if you have scleroderma or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Some people may experience drowsiness or diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if you show signs of weakness, oral ulcers, or abdominal pain accompanied by severe muscle pain, or if you experience skin changes. Mild gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, or cramping) and/or rare allergic reactions have been known to occur, in which case discontinue use. All uses except relaxation and jet lag: Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist continuously for more than 4 weeks (chronic insomnia). Keep out of the reach of children.
