Although SAMe was discovered in 1952, its importance for the metabolism of adrenaline, serotonin and histamine has only been known for a few years. SAMe stands for S-adenosyl-L-methionine, a substance that plays a central role in the metabolism of the amino acid methionine. L-methionine is an essential amino acid, an amino acid that the body cannot make on its own, but must eat in its diet. SAMe is the result of a reaction with adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and is important for a number of detoxification processes in the body, as well as for enzyme metabolism. As a methyl donor, SAMe affects the metabolism of adrenaline, serotonin and histamine and is also required for fat processing, the so-called lipid metabolism, and as a neurotransmitter.DIRECTION (1 serving = 1 capsule)
